It brings professionals from medicine, veterinary medicine, public health, and environmental fields together to address challenges they share, such as infectious diseases, rabies, and extreme heat. By working across these fields, we can better prevent health threats and protect communities throughout Puerto Rico.

Veterinarians work at the intersection of animal, human, and environmental health. By bringing professionals from these fields together, the Colegio de Médicos Veterinarios de Puerto Rico helps turn shared knowledge into action for a healthier Puerto Rico.
Since 2013, when the Colegio de Médicos Veterinarios de Puerto Rico established a committee to promote One Health and collaboration among health professionals. That same year, the Colegio participated in the Colegio de Médicos Cirujanos de Puerto Rico’s convention and has continued offering educational talks on the topic.
